NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: ZIMMERMANN SS17
New York, New York
I was first introduced to the world of Zimmerman years ago through Nicole Warne’s (A.K.A Garyppepergirl) swoon-worthy Instagram account. On her page, the Australian blogger extraordinaire have always worn Zimmerman so beautifully and therefore made me a fan. Needless to say, I was pumped to not only watch the show, but go backstage and see all the models get ready before they hit the runway.
Amidst the backstage chaos, I got the chance to chat with Maybelline’s head makeup director regarding the look she specifically created for Zimmerman: Fresh faced with a natural glow, and straight, sleek hair.
The show itself was FLAWLESS. Titled, Stranded, Belgian it-model Hanne Gaby Odiele opened the show. Along with her, a line-up of gorgeous models walked the catwalk in stunning pieces that overflowed with what? RUFFLES, RUFFLES, and more RUFFLES. I know it looks like a lot of ruffles, and when you think about it, it really was. However amazingly enough, it wasn’t overkill. On the contrary, it was utterly romantic. Lace and ruffles collide to create an ethereal fantasy.
