Nothing to Hide

“You could be the ripest, most juiciest peach in the world, but there will always be someone who doesn’t like peaches.”

It’s impossible to please everyone.

But maybe pleasing everyone isn’t the point. Maybe the point is to be a badass and not care what other people think. People weren’t made to fit into boxes. It’s OK to be different. Maybe, just maybe, the point is to never apologize for who you are, to accept your flaws, love yourself unconditionally, and tell the world you have nothing to hide.

How liberated would we feel if we all lived that way?

Don’t like me? Don’t like the way I live my life? OK. Alright then, SHOO. Let’s move on.

Anyone that knows me well would know that I don’t apologize for who I am. Being unapologetic for who I am and all I represent is something I try to actively do because I believe that you are who you are and no one has the right to tell you otherwise.

Let’s be real. I am NOWHERE near perfect, nobody is. I’m impatient, moody, overly sensitive, have major insecurities (like everybody else), the list goes on and on.

I am flawed. You are flawed. Miss Oprah Winfrey herself is flawed. It’s just a little known fact that one of the prerequisites of being human is having shortcomings. And yes, a huge part of life is to acknowledge our weaknesses and learn from them so that we obtain personal growth in order to become better people. However, it’s equally important to understand that life is also about this: The greatest act of courage is to be & own all that you are. Without apology. Without excuses.

With that said — and despite my imperfections — I’m comfortable enough to say that I know my self-worth. I am an empowered woman who’s principles won’t be compromised and have a clear sense of self. I’m compassionate, feisty, and won’t take no for an answer. On top of that, I’ve never been afraid to speak my mind or my truth because I know life is too short to hold back on what really matters to you.

One public figure that has recently caught the world’s attention with supporting this message is soccer superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo. The CLEAR Global brand ambassador shows his fans and critics alike that he has “Nothing to Hide” with the launch of his film, Ronaldo.

From the movie trailer alone, the message easily resonates. You see a side to him that is rarely shown to the general public — he’s vulnerable, he has ups and downs, and oh yeah, he’s a father. Most importantly, he’s human. It just goes to show that there are so many different layers to a person, each one complex and often times unexpected.

Thank you, CLEAR, for reminding us all that we should grab life by the horns and step into each and every day with confidence.

I have the strength and courage to allow myself to be me. This is a journey of being your best, truest, most authentic self. Why let anything or anyone get in the way of that?
